December 22nd
Students had a catch-up day to work on any missing assignments. If they didn't have any missing assignments, they started organizing their class portfolio in preparation to use it to study for their state skills test and to turn it in before the end of the semester.

December 21st
Students continued to work on their webquest on stain removal up in the computer lab. These were due at the end of class today. They also learned about common clothing care symbols, which we will finish tomorrow.
December 20th
Students worked in the computer lab today learning about stain removal techniques on a website. They will have today and tomorrow to work on this and will be due tomorrow at the end of class.

December 17th
Today was the last day in class for the students to work on their back sacks during class. If they did not finish, they will need to arrange for a time with me to come in and use the equipment to finish this project.
December 16th
Students worked on their back sack project. Most finished working on forming the casing around the top and started working on the bottom of their bag.

Students worked on their back sack project. Most finished working on attaching the two straps and forming the casing around the top and started working on the bottom of their bag.

Students worked on their back sack project. Most were working on the outside pocket and sewing their button and buttonhole.

Students worked on their back sack project. Most were working on the inside patch pocket of their bag, sewed on the velcro and pocket to their bag and started on the outside pocket.

December 7th
Students worked on their back sack project. They traced out the three patterns, cut them out and serged the raw edges of the fabric. Some started working on the next steps, which is the patch pocket. We will continue working on these the rest of the week and finish these towards the beginning of next week.

December 6th
Students continued learning about and working on their button and buttonhole samples. They watched a demonstration of both and then worked on their own samples. These will be due tomorrow (Tuesday) at the end of class. Students will be starting on their Back Sack tomorrow as well.

December 3rd
Students were shown how to sew buttons on by hand and by machine. They were then given the rest of class time to practice this skill.

December 2nd
Students learned about the importance and functions of buttons using a powerpoint and visuals. They also prepared their fabric and interfacing for their sample tomorrow on creating buttonholes and sewing on buttons using the sewing machine.
December 1st
Students' backsack project supplies were due today at the start of class. Students were then given time in class to finish the patch pocket samples.
