Students were assigned tote trays to keep their supplies in and checked out binders to use for their class portfolio. They were also provided a list of supplies/materials to get for their sewing projects and we reviewed were fabrics and notions are located in a fabric store. Next week we will go into greater detail about what types of fabrics and threads are best to use on their projects.

Students reviewed the class disclosure and policies, as well as the content of the course. They have a $5.00 lab fee, payable to the office, due on Friday, September 4th for 50 points. Any student on a fee waiver needs to talk to me sometime before this deadline.

Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences Clothing Class at Fort Herriman Middle School
Welcome to clothing class! I hope that you have fun this semester, but you will be working hard! You will be required to complete projects as well as samples to practice different techniques that will be taught to you throughout the semester. You will be graded on participation, technique, and your projects. Everyone here starts back as a beginner, so don't worry! But you do have to keep up. If you are absent, you will be missing something important, be it work time on a project or a new technique. Remember - ALWAYS READ THE DIRECTIONS! If you hate to read or follow directions, you need to break yourself of that bad habit now! Ask questions if you need to and work with your friends to help each other. Post questions here for someone to answer if you need to. Good luck and happy sewing!
