Students were shown each of the sewing projects we will work on throughout the semester and were given a letter for their parents/guardians which contains a list of the needed supplies for all of their projects. They also put together a binder to keep all of their samples, notes, etc. to help them study for their state skills test at the end of the semester. Students also picked up their supplies (Ziplock bag, scrap fabric, thread and empty bobbin) to use for their samples. They were also provided a tote tray to keep all of their supplies in and a place to store them in the classroom.

Students reviewed the class disclosure and policies, as well as the content of the course. They have a $5.00 lab fee, payable to the office, due on Friday, August 29th for 50 points. Any student on a fee waiver needs to talk to me sometime before this deadline. Students also have four papers due for TA which require parents/guardian signatures and will be worth points on their TA grade. These are also due on Friday, August 29th.

Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences Clothing Class at Fort Herriman Middle School
Welcome to clothing class! I hope that you have fun this semester, but you will be working hard! You will be required to complete projects as well as samples to practice different techniques that will be taught to you throughout the semester. You will be graded on participation, technique, and your projects. Everyone here starts back as a beginner, so don't worry! But you do have to keep up. If you are absent, you will be missing something important, be it work time on a project or a new technique. Remember - ALWAYS READ THE DIRECTIONS! If you hate to read or follow directions, you need to break yourself of that bad habit now! Ask questions if you need to and work with your friends to help each other. Good luck and happy sewing!
