March 28th
Students were given a printout with their final grade and citizenship from this past term. They were given time to double check and fix any mistakes which made have been made on their grade. They were then called up individually to fix any mistakes/changes. The students were then given the rest of class to finish pillows or any other work they need to finish.

March 27th
Students were given all of class today to finish their pillows. If most pillows are turned in by the end of class today, we will move on to something else tomorrow.

I explained how to complete their pillow and some of the most common mistakes or parts of the project that students overlook or skip that will take points from their grade. The students were then given the rest of class to start and work on their pillows.

March 19th
Students were given the rest of class today to finish their hand-stitches. These were due at the end of class today. The students will be starting on their pillows on Tuesday. Today was also the last day to turn in an extra credit, including late passes and hall passes, plus any missing assignments from the past two weeks. All were due at the end of the class period.

March 18th
Students were given the whole class period to work on the hand-stitches they learned about yesterday. These will be due at the end of class tomorrow (Wednesday).

March 17th
There was a sub today. Students learned about different kinds and sizes of pins and needles. They also learned about different hand stitches, which they will work on starting tomorrow. They had questions from the reading in the book they had to turn into the basket before the end of class. Any student who did not finish needs to check out a book and finish it for homework.
March 14th
Students were given one last catch-up day to work on and finish any assignments they have not completed from the past two weeks. They were also reminded about the last two after school labs, the final due date for all extra credit and late work and that their fabric and stuffing for their pillow is due on Wednesday the 19th.

March 13th
Today was the last day students were given in class to work on their fleece hats. Most students finished and moved on to creating fleece scarves or extra hats for extra credit. Students who did not finish were those who were not prepared with their fabric and missed class time to work on their projects. The lab will be open after school from 2:30 to 3:00 Friday and next Tuesday for students to catch-up. Pillow fabric and stuffing is due on Wednesday.

March 12th
Students continued to work on their fleece hats. Students were reminded that the sewing lab is open from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. today, Friday and next Tuesday for their use to work on missing assignments and projects. Due to my Masters class schedule, other times to open the lab would have to be arranged with me in advance. They were also told that their pillow fabric and stuffing is due next Wednesday, March 19th. We may start working on pillows this day or on Tuesday after Spring Break, but points will be given for these supplies on Wednesday.

March 11th
Students started working on their fleece hats today. They had six different patterns to choose from. They will have the next couple of days to work on these in class until the majority of students are finished. The hats are worth 28 points. They were also reminded about the last three after school open lab days of this term. They are Wednesday until 3:00, Friday until 3:30 and next Tuesday until 3:00. The last day to turn in extra credit or late work is Wednesday March 19th.
March 10th
Students had a lesson with a sub today. They were awarded participation points for turning in their starter today. They will start their fleece hats tomorrow instead.

March 7th
Students finished their three serging samples and were taught how to sew, clip and iron inward and outward seams. This last sample will be due on Monday. We will also be starting our fleece hats on Monday. Students were given points for having their fleece fabric here today. If they did not have it, it is now the students responsibility to turn in a piece of paper stating that they now have their fabric and they need to attach a late pass to it to earn full credit. Without the late pass, it will be 30-50% off.

Students continued to work on their three serging samples. Most students finished these samples and turned them in. Those who did not finish were encouraged to come in after school today or tomorrow to catch-up. They were also reminded about their fleece for their hats that is due tomorrow at the start of class and about the deadline for extra credit coming up on March 19th, as well as the deadline for any late work for the next two weeks is due no later then the 19th of March.

Students started on three serger samples and will have Thursday to finish these and turn them in. One sample was an easy square, one was the state of Utah to learn how to serge around inward corners and the third was a watermelon slice to serge around curves.

March 3rd
Students finished their four samples of seam finishes during class today. They will be learning how to use the sergers to finish other seams besides just straight stitches tomorrow.
