December 19th

The students were able to attend the reward assembly sponsored by the school for making the top 15 classes in the Sub for Santa drive. This was held at the end of the school day.

December 18th

The students were rewarded with a party today for making the top 15 classes and beating Mrs. Lybbert's class in the Sub for Santa drive.

December 17th

Students continued to work on their webquest on stain removal up in the computer lab. The answers are due at the beginning of class tomorrow. Students who were absent have until Friday to finish working on this. They were also reminded about the due date for late work and extra credit, which is January 9th.

Monday, December 15, 2008

December 16th

Students worked in the computer lab today learning about stain removal techniques on a website. They will have today and tomorrow to work on this and will be due tomorrow at the end of class.

December 15th

Students learned how to wash and care for their clothing. The steps/process was discussed. Students also learned about the dry cleaning process.

December 12th

Today was the last day to turn in their pajama pants and to catch-up and turn in any other past assignments which were done on the sewing machines. If a student needs extra time, they can come after school Tuesday or Wednesday of next week to finish. These are the last two after school open sewing labs of this semester.

December 11th

Students continued working on their pajama pants. Most worked on finishing their waistband elastic and hemming the bottom of the pant legs. These are due by the end of class on Friday, but the students will only have tomorrow to work on them.

December 10th

Students continued working on their pajama pants. Most worked on finishing their waistband elastic and hemming the bottom of the pant legs. These are due by the end of class on Friday, but the students will only have Thursday and Friday to work on them or they can stay today after school to finish them.

December 9th

Students continued working on their pajama bottoms today. Most students finished cutting their pieces out, sewed and serged the inseams together and started on sewing and serging the crotch seam. Students will have the rest of the week to work on this project as well.

December 8th

The students had their last sample due today on hand-stitched and blind hems. Students were then shown how to cut out their pajama pants and were given the rest of class time to pin and cut out their fabric.

December 5th

Students learned how to make blind hems using their sewing machine and their blind hem foot. They started this sample today and it will be due Monday at the end of class. The fabric and elastic for their pajama pants was due today as well.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Decenber 3rd

The students had a sub today and had a lesson on Peer pressure. Nothing was due or was assigned today. The read a story called "A Bad Case of the Stripes." They should have discussed why people give in to peer pressure and done a couple of activities related to this. I should be feeling better and back at work tomorrow and we will start where we left off in class yesterday.

December 4th

Students learned how to read and use the information contained on the front and back of a pattern envelope. This was done in class, so the students kept the information they learned in their binder.

Monday, December 1, 2008

December 2nd

Students watched a demonstration on how to measure different parts of the body to figure out their sizes in common patterns. Then students partnered up with a friend to take their measurements and find out their sizes in preparation for making their pajama bottoms.

December 1st

Today was the last day students had in class to work on their tie/purse projects. If they did not finish, there will be an open lab on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school this week.
