January 14th

Students were given their final grades and citizenship. Students were also given time to look their grade over carefully for any mistakes I made have made or computer errors. Students then cleaned the sewing lab and their cabinets. All of their personal materials and supplies must be taken home today.

January 13th

Students will be finishing their state skills tests and should get all of their portfolios returned. We then cleaned out and returned all of the binders and the tote trays, as well as any other sewing supplies they may still have.

January 12th

Students took the Clothing 1 State skills test in the computer lab, which is the final for the class. They were given the whole class period. The tests will be submitted to the State office of education for scoring and results should be returned byy Friday. This is worth 100 points on their grade. Students who did not finish will be allowed to finish on Thursday during class time.

January 11th

Students met in the computer lab to register for their test. We then returned to the classroom and they reviewed for the state skills test during the rest of class and anyone who did not want to use their portfolio to study from turned them in.

January 10th

Students organized their portfolio and prepared to turn them in tomorrow. The reviewed for the state skills test during the rest of class and anyone who did not want to use their portfolio to study from turned them in.

January 7th

Today was the last day students will have in class to sew. Their pajama pant project was also due today. If they didn't finish, they can come during Diamond time or after school on Tuesday to finish up and to finish any other assignments they need to turn in. All of their late work/missing assignments are due Tuesday. After this, we will be reviewing for the state skills test, which will be given on January 12th and be putting their portfolios together, which are due on the 11th. They will get their test results, portfolios and final grades on the 14th, which is the last day of the term.

January 6th

Students continued working on their pajama pants. Most worked on finishing their waistband elastic and hemming the bottom of the pant legs.

January 5th

Students continued working on their pajama bottoms today. Most students finished cutting their pieces out, sewed and serged the inseams together and started on sewing and serging the crotch seam.

January 3rd

Students were shown how to cut out their pajama pants and were given the rest of class time to pin and cut out their fabric. Students were also warned/told that the last day to turn in any missing assignments and extra credit is next Tuesday, January 11th. This includes any sewing projects, as well as their pajama pants. They also have their state skills test (final) on Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

December 22nd

Students had a catch-up day to work on any missing assignments. If they didn't have any missing assignments, they started organizing their class portfolio in preparation to use it to study for their state skills test and to turn it in before the end of the semester.

December 21st

Students continued to work on their webquest on stain removal up in the computer lab. These were due at the end of class today. They also learned about common clothing care symbols, which we will finish tomorrow.

December 20th

Students worked in the computer lab today learning about stain removal techniques on a website. They will have today and tomorrow to work on this and will be due tomorrow at the end of class.

December 17th

Today was the last day in class for the students to work on their back sacks during class. If they did not finish, they will need to arrange for a time with me to come in and use the equipment to finish this project.
